It will be taking place in various locations across Laois.
Anyone with a passion for reading will want to attend a festival taking place in the midlands this week.
'The Leaves Festival Of Writing and Music 2023' starts today, and will run until Saturday.
The festival will be visiting various locations across Laois, with many events taking place at the Dunamaise Arts Centre.
Attractions will include music, the spoken word and a comic book writing workshop.
The writier in residence for this year's event Aingeala Flannery, says it's important to have an event like this outside of just the big cities:
There are many free events as part of the festival, such as an art exhibition in Dunamaise Arts centre by Laois artist Paddy Critchley, an interview with novelist Emily Hourican also in the Arts Centre, a concert by Ultan Conlon in The Hare's Corner cafe in Mountmellick, and writer in residence Aingeala Flannery will be hosting a writer's workshop for adults in Mountmellick Library.
