It comes as the 2025 Q4 Daft.ie rental price report was issued recently.
A Laois councillor wants to see rental market reforms halted before they take effect on March 1st.
Fine Gael rep Conor Bergin feels the incoming changes will reduce supply for renters by driving small landlords out of the market
From the end of February, landlords will only be able to reset their rents to market rates once every six years.
Currently In Offaly, there are just 8 homes to rent, Laois has 13 and Westmeath has 35 according to Daft.ie
