A Fine Gael MEP says Irish farmers fears over Mercosur are exaggerated.
Last week a majority of EU member states voted in favour of the deal, which will now go back to MEPs to have their say.
Farmers here are concerned about the standard of beef which will be imported from South American countries, if the agreement is approved.
