First Residents Get The Keys To New Social Houses In Laois Village

The first residents are moving into a new social housing development in Laois.

€2.1 million was allocated last year to build 11 three-bed houses on Main Street, Borris-in-Ossory.

Six units - that were due to be finished last December, but faced delays due to lockdown - have now been completed.

Residents are set to move into the remaining five in the coming months.

Local Fine Gael councillor Conor Bergin says it helps meet demand, while also breathing new life into a rural area:
