More than 30 people in the region have been hospitalised with the flu.
Cases of the flu have almost doubled in the Midlands and Dublin region in the last week.
33 people in the region have been hospitalised with influenza this winter season so far.
People are also being warned of other respiratory illnesses, such as RSV and Covid-19, which are still circulating in the community.
The HSE is urging people who are eligible, to get their winter vaccines in an effort to protect themselves and others from the worst effects of influenza and other respiratory illnesses.
