A decision is due from the county council on June 20th.
A massive former mink factory in the midlands could be demolished soon.
Plans have been submitted for the demolition of 74 buildings on the VASA facility in Ballymanus, Stradbally.
The buildings amount to a total size of over 33,000 square metres.
Three of the remaining facilities will also be re-purposed to house cows and farm machinery.
The planning file notes the required disposal of asbestos from the roof of the existing buildings.
The facility closed earlier this year, after mink fur farming was banned in Ireland last year.
The planning file also seeks permission to remove a 40 foot shipping container, and four animal feed silos with a total capacity of over 1,000 cubic metres.
A decision from Laois County Council is due on June 20th.
