Former Shopping Centre In Laois To Be Demolished Fifteen Years On

The abandoned site has fallen into disrepair.

A former shopping centre in Laois is being demolished, fifteen years after closing it's doors. 

The Centrepoint shopping centre in Portlaoise fallen into significant disrepair and has become associated with anti-social behaviour with a number of fires on the site in recent years.

Sinn Fein's Caroline Dwane Stanley, says it's a valuable, town-centre site with potential for commercial and housing development. 

She's confident of progress there soon.
