Imelda Keenan was last seen on this day in 1994.
Gardaí are renewing an appeal for information on a midlands woman who's been missing for 30 years.
Mountmellick's Imelda Keenan was last seen on this day in 1994 in Waterford.
On the day she went missing, Imelda had informed her boyfriend she was going to the post office in the town.
She left her apartment at 1.30pm and walked down William Street onto Lombard Street.
The last known sighting of Imelda is at this time when she was seen crossing the road at the corner of the Tower Hotel and Lombard Street by a local doctor’s secretary who knew her.
She was reported missing by her brother, Edward, the following day.
30 years on, Gardaí and Imelda’s family are appealing for people to come forward to assist with the investigation.
Speaking to WLR, Superintendent at Waterford Garda Station, Anthony Pettit, says every missing person gets an extensive investigation:
Anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, are being encouraged to contact Waterford Garda Station.
Gardaí can be contacted at Waterford Garda Station on (051) 305 300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
The family of Imelda Keenan believe it may be possible that she was gone days before she was reported missing.
She was last seen at the corner of the Tower Hotel and Lombard Street, though her niece says that it may have been a mistake.
Gina Kerry says she finds it suspicious that it took 29 years to find out who Imelda's close friends were:
