Further Supports Announced For Disadvantaged Schools In The Midlands

36 schools will benefit from the government supports.

The Department of Education is offering further supports to 36 disadvantaged schools in the midlands.

Five urban primary schools in Laois, three in Westmeath and one in Offaly will see a one point reduction in the student-teacher ratio to 23:1.

Two secondary schools in Laois and three each in Westmeath and Offaly will also see a five per cent increase in funding for the School Completion Programme, to support the attendance and participation of vulnerable students.
