The company says the restriction is to allow for the continued recovery of the water supply.
Irish Water Customers in Westmeath are facing further disruptions to their supply tonight.
The utility says the restrictions in service in the Athlone area is to allow water levels in the Annagh reservoir to recover following a mechanical failure at the water treatment plant.
The company says the restriction is to allow for the continued recovery of the water supply, the restriction will be in place from 10pm tonight, Friday, 1st November, until 6am tomorrow, Saturday, 2nd November,
The areas impacted include Athlone Town, Baylin, Mount Temple, The Ories, Garrycastle, Dublin Road, Ardnaglug, Fardrum, Moydrum, Blyry, Killyon Hill, Bonavalley, Athlone and surrounds in Co. Westmeath.
It can take a number of hours for the water to restore to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network once the water supply is turned back on.
We expect that supply will return to customers between 6 am and 8am as the water returns to the network.
