Gardai in Athlone are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a number of items were stolen and damage was caused at the pop-up covid-19 testing centre in the town yesterday morning.
Laptops and phones used by HSE staff were taken during the incident which is said to have occurred between Tuesday night and Friday morning.
The centre had tested 112 people on Tuesday and operated throughout Friday after a forensic investigation of the scene was carried out.
It's located on the site of the former St. Aloysius College on Deerpark road.
Investigations are ongoing into the incident.
