Mortgage and personal loans have soared.
Latest figures from the Irish League of Credit Unions is reporting record lending numbers.
Between October and December 2025, credit unions issued €659 million in new loans, a 7% increase year on year, including over 109,000 personal loans.
Mortgage lending hit €992 million, up 26% from last year and nearing the €1 billion mark.
The average loan size also rose to over €11,000, while arrears remain low at 2.25%.
