The blaze broke out at approximately 11.15pm last night at a home in Tyrrellspass.
A neighbouring home was also impacted in the fire, though it's not clear how much damage was done.
Fire services from Kilbeggan and Mullingar were on scene to assist in battling the blaze.
No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made as of yet.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have camera or dashcam footage to come forward.
