A post mortem examination has now been completed.
The first murder investigation in Ireland this year is underway following the death of an Offaly man.
Gardaí attending the scene of a reported assault discovered the unconscious body of 29 year-old Mark Loughlin near Allenwood in Kildare just before 4 o'clock on Sunday morning.
He was taken to Naas General Hospital by ambulance and later pronounced dead.
Gardaí are appealing for information surrounding a Silver Audi A4, registration 09-CN-6292 from Saturday evening into the early hours of Sunday morning.
A post mortem has now been completed on Mr. Loughlin's body.
Gardai continue to appeal for information in relation to the incident.
They're particularly interested in any dashcam footage or anyone who was in the Allenwood area between 12:30am and 4am on Sunday.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact their local garda station.
