Tullamore Garda Station started receiving reports around 7am this morning.
Gardaí are warning motorists in Offaly of an oil spill on the road this morning.
The spill, which has already led to a number of cars losing control and spinning, is between the Mucklagh and Charleville roundabouts in Tullamore.
No injuries or vehicle damage is being reported at the moment.
Road users are being asked to avoid the area until the spill is cleared.
