The frontman of the Frames since the 1990s, the Dublin native also acted in Bafta winning movie "The Commitments" and "Once".
The romantic musical drama earned Hansard an Oscar for the song "Falling Slowly" in 2007.
He recorded his first album with Westmeath's Paddy Dunning of Grouse Lodge.
