A midlands TD is criticising the Ministers in the Department of Agriculture for not being present for a discussion on flooding along the River Shannon.
Roscommon Galway Deputy Denis Naughten raised the issue during a Topical Debate in the Dáil with Junior Education Minister Josepha Madigan, who was stepping in for Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue.
The Topical Issue was an opportunity for Deputy Naughten to discuss the compensation scheme for farmers impacted by flooding along the Shannon Callows, the execution and scope of which, he says, raises critical concerns.
But, he prefaced the discussion by highlighting his displeasure with none of the three Agriculture Ministers being present:
