A number of people in Laois have recently been left waiting hours for an ambulance.
The ongoing delay in securing a new ambulance base in Carlow is being described as "unacceptable".
Fianna Fáil TD Jennifer Murnane O'Connor has been raising the matter in the Dáil, calling for a firm commitment that a new base will be built in Carlow town.
It follows Laois County Council's request to meet with the HSE in September, after a number of people were left waiting hours for an ambulance.
