The measures, aimed at assisting families and households with the cost-of-living, are due to cease in at the end of this month and March.

Once the reductions end, an increase in the cost of petrol and diesel will have knock-on effects for transport and food.
The proposed ending of the measures come at a time when mortgage interest rates have risen to a level in excess of 5%.
