Government Urged To Intervene In Lay-Off Of Offaly Workers

The government is being urged to intervene in the temporary lay-off workers in Offaly.

Wilker Auto Conversions, which manufactures ambulances, says it's been forced into a three-week shutdown due to delays in UK imports - with up to 100 staff in Clara out of work as a result.

Local Fianna Fáil TD Barry Cowen is asking for the relevant departments to liaise with the company to secure a smooth Brexit transition.
