Green Light Given To Flood Relief Works In Midlands Town

An application was made for the project in February.

Permission to carry out flood relief works in a midlands town has been granted after eight months of waiting.

Laois County Council applied to install an overflow pipe on the stream at Shannon Street in Mountrath in February, which has now been approved by An Bord Pleanála.

A diversion of storm water and a sewer pipe from the bridge at Patrick Street in the town has also been given the go ahead.
