Longford-Westmeath Fine Gael rep Micheál Carrigy has been appointed as Chair of the group, with the ongoing housing crisis on the agenda.
The Social Democrats Party is suggesting putting forward a housing bond like the Special Savings Incentive Account.
The SSIA styled scheme would have people pay into it for a return over a few years, with funds used to develop affordable housing.
