Housing Committee Chair "Open" To Every Party's Suggestions

Longford Westmeath TD Micheál Carrigy will preside over the Oireachtas committee.

Fine Gael is claiming they'll be open to outside perspectives when it comes to the Oireachtas Housing Committee.

Longford-Westmeath Fine Gael rep Micheál Carrigy has been appointed as Chair of the group, with the ongoing housing crisis on the agenda.

The Social Democrats Party is suggesting putting forward a housing bond like the Special Savings Incentive Account.

The SSIA styled scheme would have people pay into it for a return over a few years, with funds used to develop affordable housing.

Deputy Carrigy says he's open to that idea:
