Housing Minister Invited To Laois To Discuss Lowering Social Housing Threshold

Many people are reportedly just over the threshold but can't secure a mortgage either.

The Housing Minister is being invited to Laois to discuss lowering the social housing threshold.

Fine Gael's John King is among the local councillors suggesting people would have a better chance of qualifying for supports if they quit work.

Councillor King says applicants often find themselves just over the current threshold but still unable to secure a mortgage. 

Should the minister not accept their invitation, all 19 councillors are planning to visit Darragh O'Brien in Dublin.
