There are currently 495 patients waiting on trollies in hospitals around the country today.
27 people are on trolleys in the midlands - 4 in Tullamore, 12 in Portlaoise and 11 in Mullingar.
There've been reports of some people waiting up to 24 hours to be seen for emergency care.
