IFA Calls For Flooding Supports During Meeting With OPW

They say farmers are sick of hearing excuses.

Farmers are sick of hearing excuses regarding seasonal flooding of the river Shannon. 

Westmeath chair of the Irish Farmers Association Bernie McCarthy also says agency collaboration to find a solution is long overdue. 

Her comments come after a meeting involving various branches of the IFA and OPW minister Patrick O'Donovan. 

Ms. McCarthy says she was particularly struck by one incident she came across in March:
