Westmeath Chair of the IFA, Richard O'Brien believes farmers need to be consulted before regulations are brought in.
The national meeting of policy threats to farming on peat soils will be held in the Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone at 8 o'clock.
This meeting will also address nature restoration law requirements, basic income support for sustainability and reduced intensity farming proposals.
