Illegal Dumping Becoming Increasingly Worse In Offaly

Recycling centres are deemed essential and remain open.

The illegal dumping of mattresses is an increasing problem in Offaly.

Senior Engineer from the Environment Section of Offaly County Council, John McNally. is reminding people that recycling centres have been deemed essential, meaning you can travel outside your 2 kilometre radius to attend one.  

Litter wardens have the power to issue fines from €150 up to €750 depending on the size of the item. 

Mr. McNally says the onus is on the home-owner to dispose of waste responsibly:
