CSO figures shows Laois is leading the way for EV'S.
There's been a significant increase in the number of electric cars on Midlands roads in the last 12 months.
New stats from the Central Statistics Office show 115 new privately owned EVs were registered in Laois, Offaly and Westmeath over the course of February - a 39% increase on the same month last year.
While the registration of new petrol and diesel vehicles are down seven per cent over the same time period.
Laois leads the way for new EVs in the private market in February at 41, up from 29 last year.
The number has doubled in Offaly from 14 last year to 35 last month.
And the figure in Westmeath is 39, up from 28, 12 months previous.
