One local councillor says flooding has had a "fairly extreme" impact on the area.
Locals in a Laois town are being invited to an information evening on a solution to their flooding problems.
The Mountmellick Flood Relief Scheme will have the preferred solution laid out to local residents, stakeholders, businesses and any other interested parties.
The evening will be hosted at the Mountmellick Development Association today, with the Project Team available from 3 until 8.
