A search is currently taking place for the remains of an eight-year-old boy.
'Ireland is a dangerous place to be as a child'.
That's the view of Aontú Leader and Meath West TD Peadar Tóibín.
It comes as the search for the remains of eight-year-old Kyran Durnin continues.
Deputy Tóibín says in the last 10 years 227 children have died in state care, 11 were murdered, 40 died by suicide and eight died by drug overdose.
He believes the care systems are under-run and under-resourced with mismanagement.
