Irish Rural Link Call On Communities To Check On Each Other Over Winter

Their CEO is saying simple gestures can make all the difference when the longer nights come in.

Irish Rural Link say the shorter days can mean more social isolation and an increase in crime levels. 

They're urging people living in rural areas to check on neighbours, especially the elderly and those living alone.

Recent CSO figures show four in ten Garda stations across the country have seen a rise in reported crimes in 2021 from 2019, despite Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
