"Deeply Unfair" To Expect Older Priests To Carry Out Heavy Workloads Of Active Service 

That's according to a midlands priest who thinks lay people should be ordained to celebrate funerals. 

It is 'deeply unfair' to expect older priests to carry out heavy workloads of active service. 

That's according to Fr. Paddy Byrne in response to new measures in the Dublin Diocese that will see priests made responsible for multiple parishes. 

The midlands priest says funerals could transition to different formats in the future, and thinks lay people should be ordained to celebrate funerals.
