According to a local councillor the items dumped could have been recycled for less that €10.
Parts of an old sofa, children's tops and bags of waste have been dumped at place of natural beauty in the midlands.
Fine Gael Councillor John Clendennen says it's "ridiculous that someone went to trouble" to dump this rubbish in Knockbarron Wood in Kinnitty, when they could have brought it to a recycling centre for less than €10.
He says around 600 complaints are made to Offaly County Council every year in relation to litter and waste, but only one case has resulted in a fine in court.
