Former Dublin GAA boss Jim Gavin has been selected as Fianna Fáil's candidate for the upcoming presidential election.
He won the nomination over MEP Billy Kelleher following a party vote in Leinster House today.
Backed by Taoiseach Micheál Martin and senior ministers, he is seen as the right figure within the party.
The election is set for October 24th, with Heather Humphreys and Catherine Connolly also in the race.
