Joe Biden's Irish Roots Traced By Offaly Man

Edenderry's Dr. Ciarán Reilly was asked to delve into Biden's ancestry when he visited Ireland in 2016.

Joe Biden will be looking for the support of Irish Americans on polling day in the US presidential election.

And it was an Offaly man who traced his roots back to Mayo.

Having published a book about the Famine, Edenderry's Dr. Ciarán Reilly was asked to delve into Biden's ancestry when he visited Ireland back in 2016.

Dr. Reilly says the man who could soon become the next US president was very impressed with the role his ancestor Edward Blewitt who emigrated to Pennsylvania during the Famine.
