There's a significantly higher percentage jump than the national average.
The number of people waiting for an in-patient procedure in the midlands has increased by over a third in the last month.
In total, 2,733 are on the waiting list across the three regional hospitals.
The Regional Hospital in Tullamore had the longest waiting list prior to the outbreak of Covid-19 at 1,530.
That has increased by a further 412 to bring the number to just under 1,950.
Mullingar Regional Hospital has seen the highest percentage increase in the region with a 73% jump.
That is the third largest rise in the country although the waiting list there is still substantially less than in Tullamore with 371 in total.
Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise has also seen surge of 101 from 319 in February to 420 by the end of March, representing a increase of 31.7%.
All three facilities are reporting a significantly higher percentage jump than the 16% national average.
In total, there are 77,748 people on waiting lists across the country at the end of March
