Laois Among Most Expensive Counties For Agricultural Land

There is over €1,000 difference between Offaly and Westmeath.

Laois is ranked among one of the most expensive places in the country for agricultural land prices. 

In a report from Teagasc, the average price of good quality land on holdings of less than 50 acres in Laois stands at €17,750, the ninth most expensive nationally. 

Good quality land in Westmeath stands at €15,500, with the figure set at €14,300 in Offaly.

The price of an acre of poor-quality land on holdings less than 50 acres in Laois is valued at €8,166.

The number is €7,500 in Westmeath and €6,000 in Offaly.
