The Portlaoise to Heuston train will be smaller until October.
Laois commuters are facing reduced rail services.
Irish Rail is announcing a reduction in capacity on a number of their lines over the coming months.
The Portlaoise to Heuston train-service will be reduced from six to four carriages a day, from today until October.
The direct service leaves Portlaoise at 6:20am Monday to Thursday.
This reduction in train size is to facilitate maintenance and follows an analysis changing travel patterns, post-Covid.
Train capacity will be increased again from autumn onwards.
