Laois County Council is to fly the Ukrainian flag outside their offices in solidarity with those affected by the Russian invasion.

It follows numerous requests from both the public and local representatives.

The idea was agreed at the monthly meeting of the council yesterday, with members from all parties speaking to show their support for the idea.

It's also been suggested that the council buildings could light up in blue and yellow as another measure.
