The review found seven local authorities around the country had no such policy in place.
A midlands local authority says it's put a Fraud Alert policy in place following a review by NOAC.
The National Oversight and Audit Commission yesterday revealed both Laois and Offaly County Councils were among seven local authorities no such policy in place.
It also recommended the plan be instated as soon as possible.
Laois County Council has confirmed such a policy has been recently updated and adopted, following NOAC's findings.
The local authority in Offaly is yet to confirm if it's taken a similar action.
