People can learn about eligibility when renovating.
Laois property owners interested in renovating vacant and derelict buildings will soon be able to get better guidance in securing necessary grants.
The local authority is hosting a series of public advice sessions on the issue, which starts Wednesday June 25th.
The regeneration section of Laois County Council and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland are hosting these open sessions.
They fall under the Government's Town Centre First policy which revitalises town centres through renovating underused buildings.
People can learn about available grants and eligibility criteria, and can speak with vacancy council staff and SEAI representatives on their projects.
Tips on how to make your home more sustainable, advice on applying for SEAI schemes and on home energy upgrades will also be provided.
The first drop-in session takes place in Portlaoise Library Wednesday June 25th from 10 am to 4 pm.
