Beechill Farm went into dairy farming in 2021.
A planning application is being submitted for a Laois farm to retain on site accommodation for overseas workers.
Beechill Farm, in Mountrath is owned by Island Estates and shifted to dairy farming in 2021, increasing its labour needs.
After failing to recruit sufficient local staff, the farm hired workers from abroad, who now make up half its workforce.
The application includes housing for a manager and up to five workers, along with supporting site infrastructure.
Laois County Council is expected to make a decision on the proposal by May 25, 2026.
