A Laois man is walking the length of Ireland in a local bog to raise funds for a friend who's putting up the fight of her life.

Clive Doody's "Slog On The Bog" will see him walk 476km for Andy Broughan, who suffered damage to her spinal nerves after two strokes in February.

The mum of two, who played for the Falcons Women's Rugby in Portarlington, has been in hospital ever since.
