Laois Meeting Hears Debate On Future Of Ireland’s Triple Lock Defence Policy

A meeting took place in Portlaoise last night.

The future of the Ireland's Triple Lock system is being debated in Laois this week.

The triple lock policy requires three distinct approvals from the Government, the Dail, and the UN, before more than 12 armed Defence Forces personnel can be deployed overseas for peace support or crisis management missions.

A meeting was held in Portlaoise last night focusing on the campaign to pass the "Defence Amendment Bill" through the Dáil.
