Laois/Offaly Candidate Opposes Party Stance On Town Councils

Fianna Fail want to re-establish them at a cost of €28m.

A Fianna Fail General Election candidate is opposing the party's plans to re-introduce town councils. 

The councils were used as a second tier of lower local government between 2002 and 2014. 

Michael Martin wants to re-establish the system in every town with a population of more than 7,500 at a cost of €28m. 

But Laois/Offaly candidate Pauline Flanagan says she doesn't see the benefit:
