Confirmation of some good news for one Laois village.
Emo National School is set for expansion.
Approval has been granted for two new special education classrooms at the Laois school.
Responding to the news, local Fianna Fáil TD and Junior Minister for Finance, Seán Fleming says "having these two extra classes allows children of all capabilities to attend school with additional teaching and special needs assistants, as well as the necessary facilities required."
"I especially want to thank the school Principal, Board of Management and all involved at the school for making the application to the Department [of Education] for these special needs children," he added.
Details in relation to the final cost of the project have yet to be confirmed.
Fine Gael TD for Laois-Offaly, Charlie Flanagan is also welcoming the news for what he describes "a new modern well-run school in an area of increasing population growth.”
