Brian Stanley say it's needed to aid the recent rezoning of land for residential development.
The Tanaiste needs to get out the cheque book and start investing in infrastructure right across Laois.
That's the message from Independent rep Brian Stanley, following the rezoning of land banks in the county by the local authority to provide over 8,000 additional homes.
The move came at the request of the Housing Minister asking county councils nationally to do so.
Deputy Stanley says over 760 planned homes across Borris In Ossory, Ballybrittas, Ballinakill and Graiguecullen do not have the wastewater infrastructure upgrades needed to accommodate this.
