Laois TD Says Midlands Workers Paying Half Their Income To Landlords

He believes government policy is adding to the problem.

A Laois TD says workers in Laois and Offaly are now paying half their income to landlords. 

Sinn Féin's Brian Stanley was speaking in the Dáil after his party introduced a new bill that proposes freezing rent for three years. 

Last year, rents in Laois and Westmeath increased by over 7%, while tenants in Offaly saw prices go up by 5.5%.
