Plans for a new fire station in Rathdowney were given the green light earlier this month.
A Laois TD wants a new fire station in a Laois town fast-tracked as soon as possible.
Independent rep Brian Stanley feels the final design for Rathdowney fire station could follow that of the proposed layout for Stradbally.
The Housing Department confirmed approval for the project this month after a submission was made by the local authority in December 2024.
