People in the midlands are being advised to be cautious of a new scam when selling goods online.
Laois' Frank Parker was advertising an item on Done Deal when he received a text from a potential buyer - who claimed to be too far away to collect it from him but suggested using a service, which they claimed was ran by DPD.
He says he had a lucky escape because his bank noticed the unusual activity and contacted him immediately to cancel the card.
He believed the site he was being directed to was genuine:
